Job summary

ROVIS SDN BHD is seeking a Field Support Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to install, commission, and maintain machine vision inspection systems and automation equipment at customer sites. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and support production ramp-up while collaborating with customers and internal teams.

Job description

The Field Support Engineer is responsible for providing on-site technical support, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of machine vision inspection systems and industrial automation equipment. The role involves working closely with customers, internal engineering teams, and project managers to ensure equipment operates reliably and meets customer requirements, particularly in semiconductor, electronics, and manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

Install, configure, and commission machine vision inspection systems and automation equipment at customer sites.

Perform equipment setup, system calibration, and functional testing.

Support machine acceptance testing and production ramp-up.

Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.

Diagnose and troubleshoot machine vision, camera, lighting, sensor, PC, and automation-related issues.

Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Support software configuration, parameter tuning, and inspection recipe adjustments.

Perform preventive maintenance and equipment servicing.

Respond to customer technical issues within agreed service timelines.

Prepare service reports, troubleshooting records, and maintenance documentation.

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of electrical systems, sensors, industrial equipment, and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with Windows operating systems, PC hardware, and software installation.

Willingness to travel to customer sites and provide on-site support.

Possess a valid driving license.

Good communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently and collaboratively with the engineering team.
