Job summary

ByteDance in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join the HR Operations - Employee Relations team, supporting Southeast Asia and APAC. You will manage complex ER matters, focusing on organization redesign, workforce realignment, and performance management, advising senior leaders to balance risk and business needs.

This onsite role requires strong stakeholder management, sound knowledge of Asia-Pacific employment laws, and a pragmatic approach to sensitive

Qualifications

Min 5 years in Employee Relations with redesign/workforce realignment.
Strong knowledge of Asia Pacific employment laws and regulations.
Experience advising senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Manage ER cases including disciplinary issues, misconduct, performance concerns, grievances, redundancies, complex absences.
Conduct independent investigations and analyze evidence to form conclusions.
Advise on disciplinary actions, policy interpretation and employment practices for the region.
Maintain detailed ER case documentation and investigation reports.
Deliver training to improve HRBP and leader effectiveness in ER decisions.
Partner with business leaders and HRBPs to sustain positive ER practices.
Collaborate with employment legal and investigations to balance risk.
Identify trends, diagnose root causes, and develop corrective actions.
Ensure coordinated and consistent case management across ER matters.
