Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Medini Iskandar, Johor, seeks a detail oriented freight operations professional to own customer shipments end to end, coordinating with customers, operations teams and the DHL network to ensure on-time, accurate delivery.

You will manage documentation, compliance with IATA standards, handle exceptions, and provide proactive updates to key accounts, while upholding high service quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in airfreight or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of airfreight processes, customs regulations, and documentation.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• This position is based at Medini Iskandar, Johor.

Job description

Be at the heart of Air Freight operations, taking ownership of customer shipments from end to end while delivering exceptional service. In this role, you will work closely with customers, operational teams and our global network to ensure shipments are handled smoothly, accurately and on time, while maintaining high standards of service quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Order Management

• Receive, validate, and process customer booking requests in a timely and accurate manner
• To execute shipments and follow through in timely manner (products :Domestic, International Road Freight, Air Freight, Industrial Projects, Customs Declaration)
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of shipment details including cargo specifications, Incoterms, and documentation requirements
• Coordinate booking arrangements with airlines, gateways, and internal operations teams
• Manage special cargo requirements such as Dangerous Goods (DG), temperature-controlled, and high-value shipments

2. Shipment Execution & Coordination

• Oversee and monitor end-to-end shipment lifecycle from booking to final delivery
• Coordinate closely with warehouse, gateway, and transport teams to ensure timely uplift and movement
• Liaise with origin and destination offices across the DHL network to ensure seamless execution
• Ensure adherence to agreed transit times and service commitments

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Execute and verify Air Waybills (AWB) and supporting shipping documentation
• Ensure all shipments comply with local and international customs regulations and IATA standards
• Maintain strict adherence to DHL internal SOPs and compliance guidelines

4. Exception Management

• Proactively identify and manage operational disruptions such as flight delays, rollovers, or documentation discrepancies
• Escalate critical issues in a timely manner to relevant stakeholders
• Drive effective resolution with a strong sense of urgency to minimize customer impact

5. Customer Communication & Service Delivery

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers
• Provide proactive shipment updates, delay notifications, and advisory support
• Manage customer expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, particularly for key strategic accounts

6. KPI & Performance Management

• Ensure adherence to key performance indicators, including:
  • On-time uplift and delivery performance
  • Accuracy and timeliness of milestone updates
  • Data quality and reporting standards
• Support customer reporting requirements on shipment status and service performance

7. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Support implementation of new business and service requirements
• Work closely with operations stakeholders to ensure alignment on execution standards

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in airfreight or logistics operations (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of airfreight processes, customs regulations, and documentation
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office applications
• This position is to be based at Medini Iskandar, Johor.
