Job summary

Bradken in Merlimau, Malaysia, seeks an After-Hours Supervisor to act as on-site decision-maker, ensuring safe, efficient production from melting to finishing and addressing bottlenecks with quality teams. You will drive continuous improvement and uphold safety and environmental regulations.

You will lead a production team, coordinate maintenance, and enforce ISO 9001 standards while maintaining high productivity through clear shift handovers and proactive issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Experience managing large cross-functional teams in heavy industry.
• Must be able to work on shift and in rotation.
• Familiarity with QMS and ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site decision-maker to ensure safe, seamless production flow from melting through finishing.
• Address bottlenecks, coordinate with quality teams, and minimize downtime.
• Oversee production team and maintenance, assign tasks, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Monitor critical equipment, coordinate maintenance, and manage resources to reduce waste.

What's The Role

As an After-Hours Supervisor, you will act as the on-site decision-maker, ensuring a safe, seamless, and efficient production flow from melting through to finishing. You will focus on optimising bottlenecks, collaborating closely with quality teams, and proactively addressing issues to consistently meet targets while minimising downtime. Your role will be centred on driving efficiency across all core foundry operations. Your constant presence will guarantee strict adherence to all safety and environmental regulations. Through proactive inspections, PPE enforcement, and immediate incident response, you will cultivate a zero-tolerance environment for hazards, prioritising the well-being of your team and preventing violations. You will directly oversee and support your production team, including operators and maintenance. By ensuring clear task assignments, resolving conflicts effectively, and facilitating seamless shift handovers, you will maintain high productivity, engagement, and a collaborative work environment. You will be responsible for the proactive monitoring of all critical equipment, identifying potential issues before they cause disruptions. You'll coordinate maintenance, manage essential resources, and oversee material handling to ensure continuous, efficient production and minimise waste.

Key Technical Criteria

• Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering/Metallurgy/Materials Engineering/Manufacturing
• Demonstrated experience in managing big cross-functional teams
• Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
• Able to work on shift, in rotation
• Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
