Job summary

CapBay is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Senior Lead to oversee the AP function in a fast-paced FinTech environment in Malaysia. You will lead and develop the AP team, ensure accurate processing of invoices and payments, and maintain strong internal controls.

The role requires 5+ years in AP, solid knowledge of Oracle NetSuite, and the ability to drive process improvements while collaborating with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or related field.
• 5+ years experience in Accounts Payable or related finance role.
• Experience in fast-paced environment; large org or SSC preferred.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end AP: invoices, payments, vendor mgmt.
• Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite and AP automation tools preferred.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team for high performance.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Senior Lead to oversee and manage the Accounts Payable of our dynamic and fast-paced organization. The AP Senior Lead will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the AP process. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AP processes, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the AP department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice receipt, approval confirmation, coding into the accounting software, payment processing, and reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements in all AP activities.
• Monitor and manage the AP ageing report, ensuring that all outstanding invoices are addressed promptly.
• Continuously evaluate and improve AP processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Implement and leverage AP automation tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual processing.
• Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the AP process, recommending and implementing best practices.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close activities.
• Work closely with the procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of AP activities.
• Support the finance department in cash flow management, expense analysis, and financial planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related finance role.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably within a large organization or a shared services center.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes, including invoice processing, payment cycles, and vendor management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle NetSuite) and AP automation tools is preferred.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of leading and developing a high-performing team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, team members, and senior management.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and financial reporting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
