About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join the finance team at Metra Nominees Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur. As an Accounts Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting functions. This position is essential to ensuring compliance with financial regulations and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

• Recording financial transactions accurately and efficiently in the general ledger and accounting systems
• Preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, and payment documentation
• Reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Maintaining organised filing systems for financial documents and records
• Responding to queries from internal departments and external parties regarding account information
• Supporting the audit process by providing documentation and explanations as required
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
• Ad-hoc administrative and accounting jobs as assigned from time to time

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounts administration or a similar accounting role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work
• Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong organisational and filing skills
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Familiarity with Malaysian accounting regulations and tax requirements is advantageous
