Job summary

Servay Evergreen Sdn Bhd is seeking an Accounts Manager / Assistant Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting and month-end closing. You will ensure accurate records, comply with MFRS and tax regulations, and support management with financial analysis.

The role requires a professional accounting qualification, 5+ years in retail, strong Excel skills, and supervisory capabilities. Location-based in Sabah, Malaysia; market-standard compensation offered.

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA or equivalent certification is required.
• 5+ years' relevant experience in the retail sector is preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS and Malaysian tax regulations.
• Meticulous with a strong accuracy and compliance mindset.
• Demonstrated supervisory/leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.
• Manage ledgers, AP, AR, including reconciliations and payments.
• Produce monthly/quarterly/yearly reconciliation reports and financial statements.
• Ensure timely monthly bank reconciliations and investigate unreconciled items.
• Maintain internal controls and procedures over finances.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

About the role
As an Accounts Manager / Assistant Manager atServay Evergreen Sdn Bhd, you will oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end closing. You will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and support management with financial analysis and reports.

What you'll be doing

Responsible with the preparation and data entry accuracy of financial records and general ledger accounts

Managing general ledgers, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including reconciliation and payment processing

Prepare reconciliation management reports monthly, quarterly and yearly including up-to-date financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards

Responsible in ensuring monthly bank reconciliations journal in complete timely including investigation of any unreconciled records

Enforcement and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff and supporting their professional development

Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and assisting in tax filing and planning activities

Analysing financial data and providing reports to management to support decision-making

Formulate, implement and tracking of fixed asset registration, depreciation and disposal of asset as per regulation.

What we're looking for

A professional qualification in accounting, such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent recognised certification

Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in retailing industry is an added advantage.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, includingMalaysian Financial Reporting Standards(MFRS) and tax regulations.

Meticulous and strong commitment to ensure accuracy and compliances as regulated

Proven supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop team members

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Experience working with external auditors and regulatory bodies
