Job summary

Servay Evergreen Sdn Bhd in Sabah is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead store operations across our Sabah stores, overseeing inventory, customer service and store performance.

You will manage a team of store managers, implement efficient policies, and drive growth through strategic planning and strong leadership. This role focuses on delivering excellent service while optimizing profitability across the region.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior retail operations management role, preferably supermarket/grocery.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset.
• Proficient in inventory management, supply chain logistics and performance monitoring.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison abilities.
• Degree in Business, Retail Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement store operation plans to maximize efficiency.

About the role

As the Operations Manager at Servay, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our retail operations across our stores in Sabah. This full-time position will see you leading a team of store managers and overseeing all aspects of store operations, from inventory management to customer service. Your strategic leadership and operational expertise will be instrumental in driving the continued growth and success of our supermarket / hypermarket business.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and implement effective store operational plans and policies to maximise efficiency and productivity
• Oversee the daily operations of multiple retail stores, monitoring key performance metrics and taking corrective action as needed
• Lead, coach and motivate a team of store managers, empowering them to achieve their targets and deliver exceptional customer service
• Collaborate with the buying and merchandising teams to optimise inventory levels and ensure product availability
• Identify and address operational challenges, implementing process improvements to drive continuous enhancement
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and security regulations
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and local authorities

What we're looking for

• Proven track record of at least 5 years in a senior retail operations management role, preferably within the supermarket/grocery industry
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving
• Highly proficient in inventory management, supply chain logistics and performance monitoring
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Degree in Business, Retail Management or a related field
