Job summary

You will supervise accounting staff, manage month-end and year-end close, coordinate with auditors, and produce timely financial reports to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree or diploma is required.
• 5+ years in accounting management within similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards.
• Proficient with accounting software and ERP; advanced Excel.
• Experience in AP/AR management.
• Leads and develops a team.
• Strong communication with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
• Professional qualification (ACCA/CPA) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.

About the roleFirst Biz Group Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join our finance team in Ipoh, Perak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our accounting operations and financial reporting functions.

As Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making.

This position is integral in organizing and leading the team on its' deliverables timely.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, general ledgers, and trial balances in accordance with accounting standards
• Overseeing month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Supervising junior accounting staff and providing guidance on accounting procedures and best practices
• Conducting regular account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and company policies
• Liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation for audit purposes
• Generating regular financial reports and providing insights to management for informed decision-making
• Implementing and maintaining effective accounting systems and controls

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 5+ years of experience in accounting management roles within a similar business environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards (IFRS)
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential
• Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable functions
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience with the ability to manage and develop team members
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of internal controls, audit procedures, and financial compliance requirements
• Professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is highly desirable
