Qualifications

• Qualified in accounting or finance (AAT/ACCA/ICAEW) or equivalent recognised qualification.
• 2–4 years experience as Accounts Executive or similar role.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders and expense claims.
• Maintaining accurate and organised accounting records and documentation.
• Reconciling bank statements, supplier accounts and customer accounts on a regular basis.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Preparing journal entries and posting transactions to the general ledger.
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers regarding financial matters.
• Assisting with audit preparations and providing supporting documentation as required.
• Performing general administrative tasks related to the accounting function.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Executive to join our finance team on a full-time basis at our Penang Island location. This is a pivotal role within our accounting department, where you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records and reporting. The Accounts Executive will work closely with senior accounting staff to manage day-to-day accounting operations, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of the organisation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise whilst supporting the broader financial objectives of TLB Industry Sdn. Bhd.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders and expense claims

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as AAT, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent recognised qualification


• Proven experience working as an Accounts Executive or in a similar accounting role, ideally 2-4 years


• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel


• Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices and financial regulations


• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately process financial data


• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks


• Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and verbal


• Reliable and conscientious approach to work with a commitment to meeting deadlines


• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation


• Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors would be advantageous
