Job summary

TLB Industry Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Executive to join our finance team at Penang Island on a full-time basis. You will help ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reporting and work closely with senior accounting staff to manage day-to-day operations.

The role offers opportunities to develop accounting expertise, contribute to financial health and compliance, and engage with multiple departments to support the organisation's objectives.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in accounting or finance (AAT/ACCA/ICAEW).
• 2–4 years of experience in accounts executive or similar.
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices and POs.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Reconciling bank statements and supplier/customer accounts.
• Assisting with preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Posting journal entries to the general ledger.
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers on financial matters.
• Assisting with audit preparations and providing supporting documentation.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Executive to join our finance team on a full-time basis at our Penang Island location. This is a pivotal role within our accounting department, where you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records and reporting. The Accounts Executive will work closely with senior accounting staff to manage day-to-day accounting operations, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of the organisation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise whilst supporting the broader financial objectives of TLB Industry Sdn. Bhd.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders and expense claims
• Maintaining accurate and organised accounting records and documentation
• Reconciling bank statements, supplier accounts and customer accounts on a regular basis
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts
• Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Preparing journal entries and posting transactions to the general ledger
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers regarding financial matters
• Assisting with audit preparations and providing supporting documentation as required
• Performing general administrative tasks related to the accounting function

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as AAT, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent recognised qualification
• Proven experience working as an Accounts Executive or in a similar accounting role, ideally 2-4 years
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices and financial regulations
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately process financial data
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and verbal
• Reliable and conscientious approach to work with a commitment to meeting deadlines
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors would be advantageous
