Job summary

WEBEST SDN BHD is seeking an Account Officer to collaborate with the Account Manager and team to perform accounting tasks, maintain ledgers, process invoices and receivables, and prepare monthly financial statements in Melaka. You will identify discrepancies, coordinate payments with vendors, and support auditors with working papers while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

The role requires a degree in Accountancy, proficiency in AutoCount and Excel, and willingness to start

Qualifications

Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (Mandarin preferred for Mandarin-speaking suppliers)
Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
Experience in related field an added advantage
Accounting system and Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., AutoCount, Excel)
Knowledge of Property Development Accounting Standard an added advantage
Ability to work independently, committed and meet deadlines
Positive attitude, responsibility and self-discipline
Willing to start immediately or on short notice
Working hours: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)
Willing to work at Laksamana Cheng Ho, Melaka

Responsibilities

To collaborate with Account Manager and other team members to execute various accounting tasks.
To maintain & review company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
To execute financial documents such as bills, invoices, payables, and receivables.
To identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
To coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
To verify payments and deposits made through the company account.
To create monthly / quarterly management reports for management
To review and analyze financial statements to ensure that accounting standards are followed.
To provide support to accounting staff members by scheduling meetings, handling paperwork, and other clerical tasks.
To prepare monthly financial statements and assist in the preparation of full set account.
To assist in posting transactions in the accounting systems.
To liaise with auditors in providing relevant working papers & to answer any audit queries.
To update of project cost details.
To assist HOD & senior in ad hoc tasks.
