Job summary

UM Specialist Centre is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in Kuala Lumpur. The role requires hands-on experience in financial reporting, management accounts, general ledger, audit, and financial compliance, with healthcare sector exposure as an advantage.

The successful candidate will manage monthly management accounts, oversee the general ledger, and coordinate audits while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• MIA membership is compulsory.
• Preferably 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong experience in financial statements, management reporting, budgeting and audit.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and deliver within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly Management Accounts and financial reports.
• Manage General Ledger, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and month-end closing.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to support management decision-making.
• Coordinate year-end audit, tax computation and statutory reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, fixed assets and financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review financial processes and support continuous improvement within the Finance function.
• Guide and supervise Finance team members where required.
