Job summary

BGC Group represents a well-established electronics & engineering company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (Finance) to oversee accounting operations, reporting and compliance in Malaysia. The role supports accurate and timely finance processes and drives month-end close.

The candidate will manage the finance team, coordinate audits and prepare management reports, with a focus on accuracy, controls and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 6–7 years of relevant audit and finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience in service-oriented industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and month-end closing.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Able to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication; independent and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed asset activities.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, prepayments, taxes and reconciliations.
• Review monthly balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
• Manage cash-flow reporting and support collection-related activities.
• Oversee accounting processes prepared by the finance team.
• Prepare year-end financial reporting packages in accordance with company policies and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards.
• Coordinate statutory audits, audit queries and finalisation of audited financial statements.
• Manage SSM, tax and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Prepare management reports, cost-centre reporting, budgets and variance analysis.
• Maintain accounting procedures, chart of accounts and internal controls.
• Train and mentor junior team members when required.
