Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead daily finance operations, including AP, AR, billing, and GL. The role emphasizes accurate recording, cash flow monitoring, and timely month-end closures.

The candidate should have 8+ years in full-set accounting with supervisory experience and strong Excel skills. Regional exposure and compliance with local taxes are important. This is a hands-on leadership position in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on full-set accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, data analysis).
• Ability to lead, communicate clearly, manage time effectively, and maintain integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the finance department, including AP, AR, billing and general ledger.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with policy and accounting standards.
• Monitor daily cash flow, working capital needs, and oversee bank reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes within strict timelines.
• Prepare full-set management accounts: balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow statements.
• Perform variance analysis on expenditures versus budgets to identify cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with local taxes and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and company secretaries.
• Review and refine SOPs to improve department efficiency.
• Optimize use of existing accounting software to automate workflows.

Our company provide accounting services to internal business units in various industries from hospitality, property, F&B, investment holding, etc.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the finance department, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, and general ledger functions
• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policy and relevant accounting standards
• Monitor daily cash flow, manage working capital requirements, and oversee corporate bank reconciliations
• Lead and enforce strict timelines for month-end and year-end closing cycles
• Review and prepare full-set management accounts, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss statements, and Cash Flow statements
• Perform comprehensive variance analysis of actual expenses versus budgets to highlight cost saving opportunities for management
• Ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, and local sales/service taxes
• Liaise directly with external partners, including auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and company secretaries
• Review and refine existing internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance department efficiency
• Optimize the utilization of existing accounting software or other system to automate manual workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• Minimum of 8 years of solid, hands-on experience in full-set accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
• High proficiency in accounting software/ system and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, data analysis)
• Strong leadership abilities, clear communication skills, excellent time management, and a high degree of corporate integrity
• Exceptional eye for detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
