Job summary

STARSONIC SDN BHD is seeking a seasoned finance professional to manage the company’s accounting and cost management functions in a manufacturing setting. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, cash flow control, and robust budgeting processes while maintaining strong internal controls.

You will oversee product costing, margin analysis, and cost optimization projects, partnering with production and procurement to drive efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/CIMA).
• 4–5 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, costing, and business partnering skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; ERP experience would be advantageous; English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Review reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and operational budgets.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including P&L, cash flow, and fixed asset reports.
• Maintain internal controls, audit readiness, and inventory/fixed asset management.
• Support product costing, margin analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Lead cost accounting functions, including product costing, variance analysis, and profitability reports.
• Monitor material and inventory to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and procurement to drive cost reduction initiatives.

Job description

Manage the company's finance and cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow and budget management, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. Partner with cross-functional teams to drive cost management, profitability analysis, process improvements, and strategic business decisions within a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation and reporting.

Review reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Manage cash flow, working capital, and operational budgets.

Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Prepare and analyze financial reports, including P&L, cash flow, and fixed asset reports.

Maintain and strengthen internal controls, audit readiness, and inventory/fixed asset management.

Support product costing, margin analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.

Lead cost accounting functions, including product costing, variance analysis, and profitability reports.

Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory to ensure accuracy and cost efficiency.

Work closely with production and procurement teams to manage cost reduction initiatives.

About you

Degree in Accountancy or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).

4-5 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

Strong financial analysis, budgeting, costing, and business partnering skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is important; experience using ERP or accounting systems would be advantageous for streamlining processes.

Experience working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Willingness to work in Air Keroh, Melaka.
