IPK College is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join the finance team in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. The role focuses on managing financial records, AP/AR, and ensuring accuracy and compliance across the accounting function.

You will handle month-end processes, invoicing, general ledger tasks, and financial reporting while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years' bookkeeping experience and a Diploma/degree in Accounting.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance.
2–3 years of bookkeeping experience in a small practice or business.
Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, AP/AR, reconciliations and standard financial reporting.
Familiarity with e-Invoicing processes is an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numerical data.
Basic understanding of Malaysian tax regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Assist in day-to-day accounting operations including month/year-end processes.
Process invoices, expense claims, payment requests and AP transactions.
Handle e-Invoicing, validation and record maintenance.
Ensure accurate sales, collections, and customer debt follow-up.
Prepare full sets of accounts including trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers and vendors.

About the role
IPK COLLEGE is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our dynamic finance team in a full-time position based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. As an Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing financial records, supporting accounting operations and delivering exceptional financial management services. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning of our accounting department and maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and compliance.

What you'll be doing

Assist in the daily operations of the accounting department including month and year-end process, account payable/receivable, cash receipt, general ledger, payroll/ utilities, budgeting, cash forecasting, debts activities and etc.

Process invoices, expense claims, payment requests, and other accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Handle and monitor e-Invoicing processes, including the preparation, submission, validation, and maintenance of e-Invoice records in accordance with applicable requirements.

Ensure sales and collection transactions are captured in accounts accurately and timely

To monitor and follow up on collection with customers on outstanding debts.

Process and review all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment and managing supplier aging.

Responsible for preparation of full sets of accounts including trial balance, bank reconciliation, balance sheet, Statement of Profit & Loss, and Financial Statement.

Ensure all accounting documents and records are properly filed up and well-maintained.

Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax agents, company secretary, legal advisors, bankers, vendors, customers, and other relevant parties on accounting and financial matters.

Prepare financial reports/statements required by Management from time to time

Perform cost center accounting for the company

To perform other duties as assigned by the superiors and management from time to time.

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Proven experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting, ideally 2-3 years or more

Good knowledge of full-set accounting, AP/AR, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

Familiarity with e-Invoicing and accounting software will be an advantage.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numerical data

Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team

Reliability, integrity and professional conduct in handling sensitive financial information

Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and accounting standards is advantageous
