Job Description
The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting in the preparation of management and statutory reports. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and coordination with internal and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
Prepare, verify, and process accounting source documents (job cards, GRN, SIF, invoices, debit/credit notes).
Verify accuracy and proper authorization of invoices, delivery orders, and purchase orders.
Record and verify accounting transactions accurately in the ERP system.
Maintain Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Inventory records.
Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet, within deadlines.
Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and analyses for financial reporting.
Perform job costing, budget monitoring, and variance analysis.
Maintain fixed asset register and related documentation.
Prepare monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, subsidiary ledgers, vendor statements, and GL balances.
Administer credit control, monitor collections, and conduct quarterly customer credit reviews.
Prepare weekly cash flow, foreign currency, and accounts receivable reports.
Handle petty cash, cheque issuance, payment processing, and banking transactions with proper documentation.
Conduct quarterly and year-end stock-take and inventory verification exercises.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, follow up outstanding payments, maintain proper filing, and perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum LCCI , Diploma accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (fresh graduates will also be considered).
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and UBS accounting software
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills in Chinese (Mandatory), English and Bahasa Malaysia.
High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
