Job summary

VERIDIAN CLOUD SDN BHD is seeking a Site Engineer to be the first point of contact for faults on the ANPR system at the checkpoint. You will monitor, respond to incidents, and support on-site hardware and network components to keep lanes operational.

Working through the service desk and ITSM processes, you will perform Level 1 checks, log incidents, and coordinate with HikVision and solution architects for escalations while maintaining shift handover records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, IT, CS, or Telecommunications.
• Experience in ITSM with incident management and ticketing (Freshservice, ServiceNow or similar).
• Experience in TCP/IP networking, switches, VLANs and basic troubleshooting.
• Willing to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Based at the border checkpoint site with good English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to work under pressure in a 24/7 environment and in a team.
• ELV experience (CCTV, access control, intercom or structured cabling) and HikCentral experience.
• Driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system health and alerts in HikCentral and validate alerts before action.
• Provide on-site first-line support and hardware troubleshooting for ANPR and cameras.
• Respond to incidents within SLA and log/update/close in ITSM.
• Perform Level 1 checks; escalate more complex issues to Team Lead.
• Troubleshoot site network issues including switches and cabling.
• Carry out semi-annual PM and maintain checklists and reports.
• Support camera calibration, firmware updates, and change/test steps.
• Coordinate with HIKVISION and Veridian Cloud on escalations as directed.
