The Senior Director of Quality for the Electrical Business will lead the development and execution of a global quality strategy, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, product safety, and regulatory compliance across all manufacturing sites. Reporting directly to the COO, this role plays a critical part in protecting customers, employee well-being, and brand reputation by embedding a culture of safety and excellence throughout the organization.

This position will be located in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The Senior Director of Quality will partner with corporate and plant personnel to support the development and implementation of quality control, assurance and management systems and processes across business units and manufacturing operations to meet the needs from design through customer experience. This position is accountable for leading the alignment of all quality systems, procedures and training activities with company goals, objectives and policies, driving continuous improvement of our manufacturing and service processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Strategic Leadership - Lead the development and implementation of a global quality strategy for the Electrical Business, establishing and maintaining the QMS (policies, procedures, documents) and setting quality standards (defining precise quality specifications).
• Quality Control and Assurance - Oversee quality control processes, including implementing quality assurance protocols, supporting supplier quality, and addressing quality issues and customer complaints.
• Global Quality and Product Safety Strategy - Develop and implement a unified strategy for quality assurance and electrical safety across all identified manufacturing and operational sites.
• Compliance Leadership - Ensure adherence to international safety standards (e.g., IEC, UL, OSHA, ISO) and product certifications relevant to electrical systems and components.
• Risk Management and Incident Prevention - Lead proactive risk assessments, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to prevent safety incidents and product failures.
• Quality Systems Oversight - Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), integrating safety protocols into all quality processes.
• Audit & Inspection Programs - Oversee internal and third-party audits, product inspections, and facility manufacturing reviews to ensure compliance and readiness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Legal and local quality teams to embed product safety and quality into product design, manufacturing, and field performance.
• Customer and Regulatory Engagement - Serve as the primary liaison for quality and product safety matters with customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies.
• Metrics and Reporting - Define and monitor KPIs related to product quality, product safety, compliance scores, and customer satisfaction. Present findings to executive leadership.
• Continuous Improvement - Drive initiatives including promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; Monitoring and reporting quality metrics; and analyzing data.
• Process Development and Training - Ensure processes are developed and applied in a consistent manner to support the design and manufacture of our products. Ensure plant personnel are trained on the tools. Develop and grow the capabilities of the business unit through the development and deployment of shared standards, processes and best practices.
• Budget Management - Oversee the corporate quality budget and ensure plant quality budgets provide an appropriate level of support.

• Deep understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance frameworks.
• Proven track record managing global teams and multi-site operations.
• Certifications such as ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or ISO Lead Auditor are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proven strong interpersonal and talent management skills.
• Problem solver that recognizes that quality must work in concert with operations to resolve issues expeditiously.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to work cross functionally.
• Ability to reduce complex concepts into simplified forms and educate others on those concepts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in quality and product safety leadership within the electrical industry.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence preferred.
• Six Sigma experience - Black Belt strongly preferred.
• Prior Experience in Design and/or Process/Manufacturing engineering in Stamping, Injection Molding, SMT, PCBA, and Test is strongly preferred.

• Up to 75% travel within the US and Mexico (and China as needed) will be required.
