GKN Aerospace is seeking an experienced Engineer to design and modify fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes for aerospace production in Mexico. The role focuses on resolving production problems, documenting parts, and ensuring tooling supports efficient manufacturing.

You will perform CNC setup, develop prototypes with 3D printing, and apply DFM and GD&T concepts while leveraging CATIA V5 and CAD/CAM skills.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Aerospace, or related field
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (blueprints)
• Metalworking background with experience in machine tools and machining equipment
• English proficiency around 80%

Responsabilidades

• Perform periodic Laser Tracker/CMM inspections of assembly jigs and products.
• Manage periodic inspection and maintenance of shop-floor assembly tooling and jigs.
• Provide tooling engineering support to production.
• Design and develop mold tools, assembly jigs, and fixtures, from concept to production implementation.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Perform CNC setup and programming.
• Develop prototypes using 3D printing.
• Experience in mechanical design using CATIA V5.
• Experience in the aerospace industry and familiarity with AS9100 requirements.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis (desirable).
• Hands-on with conventional milling machines and CNC machining centers.
• Experience with industrial automation (desirable).
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing applications.
• Knowledge of TPM, predictive maintenance, and autonomous maintenance principles.
• Experience working with suppliers on technical and manufacturing requirements.
• Knowledge and application of Six Sigma methodologies.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of engineering work in design and modification of fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes. Resolves production problems and completes documentation on assigned parts

Job Responsibilities
