RTX is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer in Mexicali, MX. You will design tools for assembly, forming, drilling, and machining, ensuring safety and quality standards. You will apply CAD tools and GD&T, interpret engineering drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and effective English communication are required. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience, plus aerospace tooling

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant tooling design experience in aerospace.
• Experience using CAD software for tooling design (CATIA V5).
• Experience interpreting engineering models and drawings.
• Experience applying GD&T to tooling components.

What You Will Do

• Design tools for assembly, forming, drilling, and machining processes, considering safety, ergonomics, quality, and productivity requirements.
• Apply Tool Design Manuals and best shop practices to tooling design activities.
• Consider material properties to ensure tools meet applicable safety and performance standards.
• Apply manufacturing process knowledge involving mechanical assembly, sheet metal, CNC machining, welding, and composite fabrication.
• Participate in RCCA activities to resolve internal and external quality problems and support corrective actions.
• Support operations and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards.
• Analyze, conceptualize, and execute continuous improvement activities to optimize tooling designs and processes.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and teams across the business.
• Use MS Office for engineering documentation and support activities.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, at an advanced level.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience designing tools in the aerospace industry.
• Experience using CAD software for detailed tooling design, including CATIA V5 Part Design, Product Design, and Generative Shape Design.
• Experience interpreting engineering models and drawings.
• Experience applying GD&T to the dimensioning and tolerancing of tooling components.

We Prefer

• Experience with NC programming, cutting tools, setups, and machine accessories.
• Experience interpreting welding nomenclature.
• Experience with standard hardware and components used in tooling design.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as mechanical assembly, sheet metal, CNC machining, welding, or composite fabrication.
