GKN Aerospace in Chihuahua, Mexico, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and modify fixtures, tools and manufacturing processes, while driving problem solving with emphasis on quality, cost and lead-time reduction. A bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, or mechatronic fields and travel willingness are required.

English proficiency is needed, and we value leadership, teamwork and a proactive approach.

Formación

• Education: Bachelor degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Mechatronic or similar.
• English: Fluent – Conversational.
• Experience: 3+ years in a similar position; travel frequently.

Responsabilidades

• Develops, evaluates, improves and documents manufacturing processes.
• Develops and implements process control techniques including work instructions using tools such as SPC, PFMEA.
• Analyzes manufacturing process flows continually for quality, cost reduction, lead-time reduction for new work.
• Collaborates with other functions to ensure effective production methods.
• Coordinates part inspection procedures with Quality Engineers.
• Addresses and documents cause and corrective action issues to prevent future problems.
• Determines required material and tools for production.
• Creates and registers changes to work instructions.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of engineering work in planning, design and modification of fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes. Resolves production problems and completes documentation on assigned parts

Job Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, improves and documents manufacturing processes
• Develops and implements process control techniques including work instructions using tools such as SPC, PFMEA
• Analyses manufacturing process flows continually for the improvements of quality, cost reduction, lead-time reduction for new work
• Collarborates with other functions to ensure effective production methods
• Coordinates part inspection procedures with Quality Engineers.
• Addresses and documents cause and corrective action issues to prevent future problem occurrences.
• Determines required material and tools for production
• Creates and registers changes to work instructions

Job Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor degree (Industrial, Mechanic, Aeronautical, Mechatronic or similar).
• English: Fluent – Conversational.
• Experience:
  • Valid visa and passport.
  • Availability to travel frequently.
  • Experience at least 3 years in similar position.
  • Knowledge of methods of analysis and investigation of problems.
  • Knowledge of the assembly processes, sheet metal and composite.
  • FAI's requirements (AS9102).Desirable experience in transference projects.
  • Experience in design software (CATIA or similar) and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and their specifications.
• Skills: Leadership, communication, problems solving, teamwork, sense of urgency, results oriented, continuous improvement..
• Requirement: Schedule flexibility.
