Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Tailings Leader based in Mexico City, Mexico. This role blends technical leadership with business development to expand AECOM’s tailings management presence across Mexico and LATAM, mentoring staff and driving strategic initiatives.

The candidate will oversee design, analysis, and construction oversight of tailings dams, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality deliverables while collaborating with clients to grow the market and promote best practices

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, with tailings dam design focus.
Demonstrated success in business development, including client relationships and proposals.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for tailings dam practice in Mexico and LATAM, aligned with global goals.
Lead design, analysis, and construction oversight of tailings facilities and embankments.
Mentor junior engineers and review project deliverables for quality and consistency.
Develop and pursue new business opportunities in tailings management across Mexico and LATAM.
