Caterpillar Inc. in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to identify and develop supply chain improvements and evaluate ROI.

You will coordinate material planning for new product introductions, manage BOMs, track engineering releases, and partner with Purchasing, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure on-time material availability.

This role emphasizes analytical thinking, process improvement, and supplier management to build cost-effective, resilient supply chains.

  • Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
  • Developing and analyzing data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.
  • Coordinate material planning and procurement activities for New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring alignment with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the system.

Role:

Performs analysis to identify and develop supply chain business and process improvement and evaluate return on investment (ROI) of the opportunity.

What you'll do:
  • Identifying, defining, and implementing integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
  • Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
  • Developing and analyzing data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.
  • Coordinate material planning and procurement activities for New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring alignment with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the system.
  • Manage the introduction of new part numbers, as well as material transition and phase-out activities for existing components.
  • Track engineering releases and validate material availability throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Production Scheduling, Quality, and suppliers to ensure on-time material availability and delivery.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent disruptions.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained during product transitions and launch activities.
  • Provide visibility of material status through regular reporting and cross-functional project review meetings.
  • Lead material ramp-up and stabilization strategies to support successful new product launches.
Education Required:

Degree in Industrial Engineering or related

Intermediate English

  • Strong focus on prioritizing high-impact improvement opportunities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to identify systemic issues and recommend solutions at an organization level.
Supplier Management
  • Knowledge of supplier management practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Proficiency in using electronic systems and tools to manage supplier information and transactions.
  • Ability to resolve routine supplier issues and elevate complex matters when appropriate.
  • Capability to research alternative suppliers and support supplier evaluation and selection activities.
  • Ability to collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with delivery schedules, quality standards, and specifications.
Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of fundamental supply chain management principles and processes.
  • Ability to analyze consumption and supply flows to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Understanding of the goals, objectives, and best practices associated with effective supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of key functional areas within the supply chain.
  • Ability to identify waste, unnecessary costs, and inefficiencies, and recommend actions to optimize supply chain performance.
The best candidates will also have
  • SAP knowledge and usage of at least 3 years
  • APICS: CPIM
  • Green Belt / Black Belt
