Caterpillar Inc. in Santa Catarina, Mexico, is seeking a role coordinating engineering releasing activities between engineering design areas and procurement/scheduling with effective and timely implementation.

You will analyze releases, updates, and BOM data, maintain relationships with releasing analysts, and ensure accurate change management across SAP and related systems.

Formación

  • Completed degree or undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Intermediate conversational English.

Role

Coordinates engineering releasing activities between engineering design areas and procurement/scheduling with effective and timely implementation.

What You Will Do
  • Creating, maintaining, and communicating accurate change management data at both the local and corporate level through data entry in multiple management information systems.
  • Analyzing engineering releases, changes, drawing notices to create change management requirements, providing the creation of product structure based on engineering design.
  • Maintaining close team relationships with releasing analysts, as well as teams in manufacturing operations, process planning, engineering design, and material planning.
Education Required
  • Completed degree or undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Intermediate conversational English

Below are some of the most important skills that are required in this position:

Accuracy and Attention to Detail
  • Strong knowledge of the cost, production, and supplier impact of errors in Bills of Materials (BOMs), revisions, and engineering documents.
  • Ability to apply structured verification tools (checklists, cross-checks, document comparisons) to ensure error-free engineering changes.
  • Capability to identify discrepancies in technical data early and take corrective action before release.
  • Background in handling Bills of Materials (BOM).
Cross-Team Integration
  • Strength in building effective relationships with key areas such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Production Control, and Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge to coordinate actions across departments to ensure timely execution of engineering changes (quotes, BOM updates, PPAP, effective dates).
  • Ability to communicate proactively and seek support when alignment or escalation between teams is required.
  • At least 1 year of exposure to supply chain processes.
Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) & Manufacturing Application Systems
  • Applied understanding of how engineering changes affect MRP cycles, material availability, revisions, lead times, and supplier shipments.
  • Ability to accurately enter and update critical data in manufacturing systems (revision levels, EAU, disposition, effectivity, BOM changes).
  • Capability to interpret system outputs and anticipate impacts on production schedules, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
  • Intermediate proficiency in SAP system.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Top Candidates Will Also Have
  • Power BI and Power Apps management

  • Green Belt certification
