Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Direct Buyer to join the Freight Services team in Mexico. You will procure raw materials for a scheduled production program, interface with suppliers and internal customers, and resolve invoice and system issues in planning.

You will report on site to the Purchasing Coordinator and collaborate with Production, Quality and Logistics to ensure material availability, on-time shipments, and accurate ERP/MRP data. This role emphasizes analytical skills and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar or the 80% credits completed.
• 1 to 3 year of experience in Purchasing and/or Planning Area
• MRP and ERP system knowledge (Oracle desired)
• Ability to prioritize activities
• Use of analytical skills and data analysis
• Desire of processes’ improvements
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Inventory levels revision.
• Follow up meetings with Production and USA Wabtec team.
• Review current coverage of part numbers according to the planning method used.
• Provide shipment priorities to suppliers.
• Communication with suppliers (external and intercompany).
• Open POs and In-transit follow up.
• Follow up receipt and payment issues with Warehouse and Accounts Payable.
