Job summary

Coforge is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Backend) with 10+ years of experience to design, build, and operate scalable backend systems on AWS. You will lead microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures, and mentor engineers to deliver reliable software at scale.

The role requires deep backend expertise, strong design decisions, and collaboration with product and design partners. Hybrid onsite in Mexico (Hermosillo or Mexico City) with a focus on secure, observable services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend software development experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale, highly available systems.
• 3+ years architecting and building cloud-native solutions on AWS including EKS, RDS, MSK, S3, and Lambda.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and gRPC and strong data modeling with relational and NoSQL stores.
• Proven observability using DataDog or OpenTelemetry and knowledge of secure API design and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving architecture decisions across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define reusable, scalable back-end architectures across platform and integrations.
• Lead design and development of high-performance API-based backend services meeting SLOs.
• Promote engineering excellence and best practices in system design and operations.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and product to align backend strategies and standards.
• Mentor engineers, drive DX, and uphold high-quality documentation.
• Modernize legacy systems and upgrade technology stacks.
• Contribute to full-stack work as needed and participate in on-call rotations.
