Donaldson Company seeks an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to lead the Mexico Trade Compliance function. You will ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and FTAs while partnering with global teams to standardize processes and risk controls.

You will monitor regulatory changes, update policies, and manage relationships with customs brokers and government agencies, driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Formación

  • 8+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Customs, Import/Export, or International Trade.
  • +5 years of Leadership experience managing trade compliance activities or teams.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, and FTAs.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the Mexico Trade Compliance team and provide strategic direction for compliance activities.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and FTAs.
  • Collaborate with Global Trade Compliance teams to standardize processes and trade programs.
  • Communicate regulatory changes and compliance risks to senior leadership.
  • Oversee audits, government inquiries, and maintain audit readiness with proper documentation.
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.

The Trade Compliance Manager leads the Mexico Trade Compliance function, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and international trade laws. This role partners with cross‑functional global teams and global stakeholders to minimize compliance risks, support business objectives, and drive consistent trade compliance practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Mexico Trade Compliance team and provide strategic direction for compliance activities.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes, updating policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
  • Partner with Global Trade Compliance teams to standardize processes, tariff classifications, and trade programs.
  • Communicate regulatory changes and compliance risks to senior leadership.
  • Lead customs audits, government inquiries, and ensure audit readiness through proper documentation.
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies and external advisors.
  • Oversee tariff classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and other trade compliance requirements.
  • Develop and improve trade compliance policies, internal controls, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to support compliant global operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Customs, Import/Export, or International Trade.
  • +5 years of Leadership experience managing trade compliance activities or teams.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, government agencies, and regulatory audits.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Trade compliance certifications (Licensed Customs Broker, CCS, CUSECO, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting multinational manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
