Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is seeking a Sr Buyer in Tijuana, MX to optimize direct and indirect material purchasing, align with MRPs, and support production continuity.

You will source suppliers, analyze costs, monitor supplier performance, and lead cross-functional collaboration with production, logistics, engineering, and quality to drive cost reductions and inventory efficiency.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Administration is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (Automotive or Electrical industry).
• Fully bilingual English/Spanish; SAP and Power BI knowledge preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Execute purchase orders for direct and indirect materials per MRP or internal requests.
• Ensure timely supply to avoid production downtime or material shortages.
• Review and validate requisitions for quantities, specs and dates.
• Source, evaluate, and select new suppliers meeting quality, service and cost standards.
• Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness).
• Conduct cost analysis and secure savings aligned with company objectives.
• Analyze consumption, inventory levels, and forecasts to anticipate buying needs.
• Identify supply chain risks and propose preventive actions.
• Maintain updated master data (lead time, MOQ, pricing).
• Collaborate with production, logistics, engineering, and quality to resolve material issues.
• Follow up on urgent orders (expedites) and communicate status.
• Propose initiatives for cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supply chain efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional projects related to new products, suppliers, or process.
• Provide necessary support to ensure EHS policies are respected.

Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr Buyer.

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What You’ll Do

Primary Function:

To contribute to the profit of the division using the methods, more effective systems and procedures in the Purchasing department.

Essential Functions

1. 1 Execute purchase orders for direct and indirect materials according to MRP requirements or internal requests.
2. 2 Ensure timely supply to avoid production downtime or material shortages.
3. 3 Review and validate requisitions to ensure accuracy in quantities, specifications, and dates

10. 10 Collaborate with production, logistics, engineering, and quality to resolve material related issues or deviations.
11. 11 Follow up on urgent orders (expedites) and communicate status to involved departments
12. 12 Propose initiatives for cost reduction, inventory optimization, and supply chain efficiency
13. Participate in cross-functional projects related to new products, suppliers, or process.
14. Provide necessary support EHS policies are respected in all of its contents.

Qualifications

Preferred education level:

• Bachelor Degree Engineering or Administration

Years And Area Of Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 year experience in similar position. (Automotive, Electrical Industry)

Technical Knowledge

• Problem Solving Tools (A3, PDCA, 5WHY's, etc.)
• SAP
• Fully binlingual (English/Spanish) required
• Power BI knowledge is preferred.
• APICS
