Job summary

Windsor Troy Law, LLP is seeking a Settlement Negotiator for its Personal Injury Department to manage and negotiate settlements before litigation. The role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, plus experience with auto insurance claims, plaintiff and/or defense.

Responsibilities include reviewing case materials, engaging with insurers and counsel, presenting evidence, and ensuring fair compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of legal experience, specifically in Personal Injury.
• 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
• 1+ years of office experience.
• Experience with Case Management Software.

Responsibilities

• Review the facts of the case including medical records, police reports, and statements.
• Assess strengths and weaknesses to determine settlement strategy.
• Engage in discussions with insurers, opposing counsel, or others to reach a fair settlement.
• Present evidence and arguments to justify client compensation.
• Resolve remaining issues related to the settlement agreement.
• Counter offers and protect client interests.
• Ensure settlements cover medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
• Obtain expert reports to substantiate claims and maximize settlement value.
• Estimate potential compensation based on injuries, damages, and liability.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
