ABB is seeking a senior R&D engineer to lead transformer design and related IP development in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. You will act as the first contact within R&D for product-related issues and maintenance, driving technology and solution development while leveraging your expertise to implement innovative solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering teams, documentation of technical results, and ongoing IP strategy support.

Formación

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably transformer design and development.
Strong knowledge of UL, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, and IEC standards.
Experience using simulation software for transformer design and analysis.
Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
Experience in manufacturing processes, transformer assembly, and test report interpretation is desirable.
Valid U.S. visa and passport are preferred.

Responsabilidades

Maintain recognized expertise by incorporating latest technologies, tools and methodologies.
Develop innovative approaches to solving complex engineering challenges with hypotheses and validation methods.
Document technical findings, designs, calculations and project results for knowledge sharing and improvement.
Contribute to IP generation and support project IP strategies.
