ABB is seeking a Design Authority in Mexico to lead electrical CAD tool enhancements and coordinate with Engineering, IT, and Manufacturing teams. You will define requirements and frameworks for Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and SAP across projects of varying complexity.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical project engineering, strong English skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. On-site with occasional after-hours production support.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 5+ years of experience with Electrical Project Engineering and Rules based Systems.
• Knowledge of Empower, HIRES, ePLAN, GPLM, SAP, and MS Office.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, organize, lead, and execute multiple small and large projects while meeting target delivery dates.
• Develop user requirements, specifications, and structure for Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and SAP.
• Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP teams to troubleshoot and drive timely resolution to system related issues.
• Enhance electrical CAD tools for various product lines; set up, maintain, and train users on engineering systems.
• Some evenings and weekends may be required for production problem resolution, programming and inventory support.

This position reports to:

Engineering Tools Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

The work model for the role is:

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Mexico to support North America. Main stakeholders are Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Plan, organize, lead, and execute multiple small and large projects simultaneously while meeting target delivery dates.
• Develop user requirements, specifications, and structure for improving various applications, including, but not limited to Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP.
• Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP team members to troubleshoot and drive timely resolution to system related issues.
• Enhance electrical CAD tools for various product lines. Setup, maintain, and train users on engineering systems.
• Some evenings and weekends may be required as part of production problem resolution, programming and inventory support.

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
• 5+ Years of experience with Electrical Project Engineering and Rules based Systems.
• Established skills in Empower, HIRES, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP, MS Office.
• Enhanced knowledge of Low/Medium Voltage Motor Control Centers required.
• Working knowledge of SQL is required and general programming.
• Advanced English required.
