Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is hiring a Python Developer in Puebla to build an event-driven integration platform with APIs, resilience, and AI-facing integrations. You will design contract-first interfaces, manage a durable event log, and implement various access patterns while ensuring quality and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in Python, strong knowledge of distributed systems, Kafka or similar streaming, and experience with OpenAPI/AsyncAPI. Flexible hybrid work options in Mexico offered.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of production experience with Python, with typed, tested, packaged services and APIs.
• Solid grasp of event-driven and asynchronous architecture, including retries and idempotency.
• REST API design and OpenAPI experience; AsyncAPI contracts a plus.
• Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming platform.
• GenAI-assisted development in daily workflow; ability to evaluate tool outputs.
• Testing discipline with pytest; CI/CD pipelines; Linux, Git and containers.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to defend architectural trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale a Python service handling an event taxonomy and durable replayable log.
• Design contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create the correlation layer turning signals into correct ITSM actions.
• Develop resilience mechanisms for degraded or unavailable upstream platforms.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhooks.
• Own end-to-end quality: reviews, standards, testing, observability, support.
