AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Python Developer in Monterrey, Mexico to build and scale an event-driven integration platform with APIs, resilience mechanisms, and AI-facing integrations. The role emphasizes production-grade Python, OpenAPI/AsyncAPI contracts, and distributed systems expertise.

You will collaborate to design durable event logs, implement scalable messaging, and contribute to GenAI-enabled development. Strong communication and learning mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production experience with Python, including typed, tested, packaged services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of event-driven and asynchronous architecture (messaging, durable logs, at-least-once delivery, idempotency, retries).
• Experience designing REST APIs and working with OpenAPI; willingness to work with AsyncAPI contracts.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming platform.
• GenAI-assisted development; familiarity with AI coding agents and tool usage.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing), CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Git and containers.
• Strong debugging across distributed systems and good problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to defend architectural trade-offs.
• Desire to continuously learn and evaluate new tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the backbone: Python service with observation/intent/outcome taxonomy and durable event log.
• Design and maintain contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create the correlation layer to turn signals into ITSM actions with exactly-once semantics.
• Develop resilience mechanisms to keep services usable during upstream degradation.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhooks, streams, batch ingest.
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for teams.
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling interfaces.
• Modernize legacy integrations via managed deprecation without disrupting consumers.
• Own quality end-to-end: code reviews, testing, observability, production support.
• Participate in squad ceremonies and customer meetings to gather requirements.
• Autonomously own components or projects and document architectural decisions.
