Job summary

Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. The Project Director is responsible for the overall leadership, execution, and successful delivery of major strategic projects from contract award through final handover and commercial closeout.

The role has full accountability for project safety, quality, schedule performance, profitability, cash flow, contract compliance, risk management, and customer satisfaction, serving as Sulzer’s senior project representative

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field is required.
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead major projects from contract award through final closeout with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
• Define execution strategy, governance, staffing, and communication frameworks for projects.
• Direct Project Managers and core teams; set objectives, milestones, and success criteria.
• Ensure alignment of scope, contracts, customer requirements, and execution plans.
• Oversee commercial strategy, change orders, and margin reviews.
• Develop and maintain executive-level customer relationships and conduct reviews.
