Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Senior NPI Engineer in Matamoros, Mexico to drive new product introductions and manufacturing changes. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure readiness from development through release to manufacturing.

You will develop and improve manufacturing processes, lead transfer activities, and support validation builds, tooling, and cost improvements while maintaining quality across operations.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, new product introduction, or related technical manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting product launches, process changes, or production transfer activities.
• Knowledge of machinery, tooling, materials, and manufacturing process development.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and track actions through completion.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the transfer of information on new products and engineering changes between engineering and manufacturing.
• Plan and execute new product introduction activities across the product development process.
• Manage engineering-to-factory communication for product changes, validation builds, and release-to-manufacturing timing.
• Track action plans, priorities, and implementation progress for NPI activities and product changes.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, procedures, and standard work.
• Work with machinery, tooling, materials, and production teams to improve manufacturability, quality, and efficiency.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, and design engineering teams to reduce launch issues and support problem resolution.
• Support production readiness by training and providing technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.
• Contribute to manufacturing cost, process, and productivity improvements associated with NPI and engineering changes.
• Support validation builds, customer visits, and other launch-related activities as needed.
