Job summary

Takeda in Mexico City is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll across Latin American markets with increasing independence. You will coordinate with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery, leveraging systems like Workday, ADP, and SAP Payroll.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, or related field; payroll cert is advantageous.
• Typically 3–5 years of payroll experience, ideally regional/multi-entity/international.
• No direct reports; role provides day-to-day guidance and peer coaching.
• Experience delivering payroll across Latin American markets (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Chile, Panama) preferred.
• Experience with outsourced payroll providers and payroll data, reports, and structured datasets; familiar with Workday, ADP, SAP Payroll, ServiceNow or equivalent.
• Fluent English; additional languages desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end payroll activities for an assigned portfolio via approved systems and providers.
• Validate complex earnings, deductions, taxes, and time data.
• Perform reconciliations, controls, corrections, off-cycle transactions, and year-end support with audit-ready records.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes, apply corrective actions, and escalate material risks as needed.
• Serve as operational contact for payroll providers; partner with COE, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure service quality.
• Use approved digital/AI tools with human validation; support system changes and process updates related to payroll.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate recurring tasks; provide day-to-day guidance and knowledge sharing.
