Job summary

SEGULA Technologies seeks a Senior Process Development Engineer for Injection Molding to develop and optimize robust molding processes. You will lead scientific molding initiatives, work with design and tooling teams during NPI, and drive CAPA-driven improvements across manufacturing cells.

You will mentor juniors, ensure compliance with SOPs and PFMEA, and partner with Quality, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure seamless handoffs to production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding process development and tooling within a manufacturing environment.
• Master Molder Certification (RJG Level 1 or Level 2) highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of plastic materials (resins, polymers, additives) and their processing characteristics.
• Experience with scientific molding tools and process monitoring systems (e.g., eDART).
• Strong proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab) and CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or Moldflow).
• Soft Skills: problem-solving, communication, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, establish, and optimize stable injection molding process parameters using scientific molding principles (RJG, decoupled molding).
• Collaborate with product design and tooling engineering during early-stage development for DFM/ DFA.
• Lead IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for new molds, presses, and equipment.
• Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and DOE to minimize cycle times and scrap, improve Cpk.
• Perform structured root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for defects and implement CAPA.
• Author and maintain SOPs, PFDs, PFMEA, and technical reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Maintenance.
