Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Mexico seeks an experienced Functional Safety Assessment Engineer to lead and execute independent safety assessments and confirmation reviews for high-criticality automotive features and platform architectures (ASIL C/D).

You will evaluate key safety work products, review supplier safety deliverables, and ensure traceability and verification across Jama, VSEM, and MBSE models. Proficiency in Python for automation is valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years applying ISO 26262 in automotive functional safety (ASIL B/C/D).
• 3+ years with automotive E/E architecture, bus systems, embedded software/hardware.
• 2+ years conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP).
• 2+ years managing project timelines and governance reporting.
• 1+ year of Python or scripting for automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Functional Safety Assessments and Confirmation Reviews for high-criticality features (ASIL C/D).
• Evaluate safety work products: HARA, Functional/Technical Safety Concepts, Safety Cases and SRSs.
• Review supplier safety deliverables and interface agreements for third-party integration.
• Audit safety requirements traceability across Jama, VSEM, and MBSE models.
• Present findings to Functional Safety governance boards and program leadership.
• Apply Python and automation to enhance safety metric reporting and assessment tracking.
