Job summary
Clarios seeks a Functional Safety Engineer in Monterrey, Mexico, to lead system-level safety across low-battery intelligent systems. You will drive safety concepts, HARA, FMEA, and ISO 26262 lifecycle activities, collaborating with hardware, software, and systems teams to ensure compliant, safer automotive solutions.
You will mentor cross-functional teams, identify safety risks early, and promote best practices in safety-critical product development while coordinating with project stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years in Functional Safety in automotive.
- Experience in safety-critical product development (BMS, energy storage, power electronics, or embedded automotive).
- Experience across ISO 26262 lifecycle.
- Experience with Tier-1/OEM environments.
- Familiar with safety analysis tools.
Responsibilities
- Owns and drives system-level Functional Safety for low battery intelligent systems.
- Provides leadership and reviews safety work products (HARA, Safety Concepts/Requirements, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA).
- Guides cross-functional teams in safety requirements and mechanisms.
- Supports safety audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance.
- Acts as Functional Safety expert to resolve complex challenges and promote best practices.
- Communicates status to stakeholders.
