Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join its R&D team in Guadalajara, Jalisco. You will develop advanced predictive models, analyze large datasets, and design experiments to validate models and their impact.

Collaboration with R&D, engineering, and product teams will drive data-driven decisions across products. The role requires 5+ years in data science, strong Python or R and SQL skills, ML library expertise, and experience with Spark/Hadoop and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, CS, or Math.
• 5+ years as a Data Scientist in R&D or product development.
• Proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
• Experience with ML libraries (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with big data tech (Spark, Hadoop) and cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ability to translate complex problems into data-driven solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
• Hybrid work experience with Guadalajara, Jalisco as a base.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced ML and statistical models for predictive analytics.
• Analyze large, diverse datasets from R&D projects to extract trends and insights.
• Design experiments to validate models and assess impact.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and product teams to define data requirements.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for model training and deployment.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated with advances in data science and R&D methodologies.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Visualize model results to support decision-making.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and reproducibility of analyses.
