Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer in Mexico to drive data-driven insights. You will partner with analytics and data science to design scalable data models and ML pipelines, leveraging Databricks and cloud platforms to deliver real-time and batch processing capabilities.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience in ML/data engineering, strong Python/SQL skills, and a track record of building APIs with FastAPI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on professional experience in ML, data engineering or ML infrastructure.
• Solid foundation in probability, statistics and ML concepts.
• Experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog) and cloud ML platforms (Azure ML, AWS, GCP).
• Skills in Python, NumPy, Pandas, SQL; building scalable APIs with FastAPI.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration; English fluency at B2+.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ML datasets and manage scoring processes.
• Architect and maintain real-time and batch data sources across the org.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to deploy ML models.
• Advance ML components of the Enterprise Data Platform and API scoring.
• Integrate automated ML workflows into Data Engineering processes.
• Tune performance and optimize query execution.
• Support Data Lifecycle Management for the ML team.
• Stay current with databases, data lakes and warehouse technologies.
• Follow architecture and deployment standards with Analytics teams.
• Build scalable, reusable data models.
