Job summary

EPAM Systems in Mexico is seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer to lead data engineering initiatives and delivery on complex projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions that empower analytics and business insights.

You will build ETL/ELT pipelines, leverage Spark, Databricks, and Python, and mentor others while balancing hands-on coding with delivery accountability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role.
• Strong Python coding and data manipulation skills.
• Solid SQL querying and data transformation abilities.
• Practical experience with Apache Spark for large-scale processing.
• Familiarity with Databricks and data engineering analytics.
• Proficiency in English (B2+).
• Knowledge of Anthropic Claude Code is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and batch/streaming data platforms.
• Set up data ingestion and transformation from multiple sources using Spark, Kafka, and related tools.
• Improve data delivery and scalability by automating processes and optimizing infrastructure.
• Develop data services with Spring Boot and UI/API components using ReactJS and NoSQL.
• Oversee delivery governance and production workflows in agile setups.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership on delivery decisions and risk management.
• Mentor and support Data Engineers to ensure high-quality outputs.
