Eaton Corporation is looking for a Senior Cost & Inventory Financial Analyst in Nuevo León, Mexico. This role involves analyzing financial data and ensuring compliance with US and MX GAAP while supporting the Finance Manager on various cost-saving projects.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and be bilingual in Spanish and English, with three or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Oracle systems are highly desirable.

Senior Cost & Inventory Financial Analyst

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Cost & Inventory Financial Analyst.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY FUNCTION: As part of the finance/accounting group, this position is responsible for reporting & analyzing financial, COGS, routings, BOMs and inventory results. This position supports Finance Manager (Plant Controller) for ensuring financial accounting activities at the location are in compliance with US GAAP, MX GAAP, local statutory requirements and Eaton Corporate policies and practice. The role supports the development of and analysis of forecasts and actual performance and operational metrics, and participates in the profit plan with a focus on cost‑savings projects, scrap, production volume and cost.

  • Analyze COGS structure, review current routings and BOMs to ensure profitability and a correct absorption rate for Monterrey Operations.
  • Coordinate cost accounting process and cost maintenance to ensure accuracy of BOMs, routings and standard cost. Assist in periodic reviews and updates, including review of variance analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and analyze cost structure for new projects.
  • Prepare profit plan, rolling forecast and weekly performance reporting for cost & inventory related metrics and figures. Drive business to meet or exceed short‑term & long‑term goals, initiatives, and expectations.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate department budget system; develop and implement reports for management to evaluate results against performance targets.
  • Provide business partnership to all areas of plant regarding functional expertise and cross‑functional support; advise plant personnel on financial operations and interpretation of financial information.
  • Analyze low‑cost margin, work with operations to identify production strategy.
  • Partner with materials and quality teams to ensure controls are in place to follow on‑hold levels as per internal policy and controls.
  • Support IC costing and MPV reviews and reports related to general cost for legacy business.
  • Lead processes to identify and quantify cost‑out opportunities and related data capture in database; ensure integrity of financial information related to cost‑out projects.
  • Support implementation of improvements to monthly closing procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness; develop and improve financial modeling and tools.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of data to the various Eaton systems (Oracle, Wisper, RSD, Encore, DFT, OBIEE, Dashboard, etc.).
  • Coordinate annual physical inventory for finance activities ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and accuracy of physical count; deploy appropriate cycle count procedures.
  • Review and release scrap material and production completions reporting, COGS, material price variances, cost updates, and other COGS‑related activities.
  • Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls to ensure integrity of financial transactions and reporting; safeguard plant; ensure compliance with statutory requirements applicable to the plant.
  • Support and lead department activities related to process improvements and standard work; maintain a culture of continuous improvement; deploy and sustain lean tools and initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency of finance function.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English.
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment and cost accounting.
  • Technical capability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data/reports.
  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem‑solving capability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with internal customers and Eaton Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience in Oracle and Mapics is a strong plus.
  • Sound working knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes‑Oxley, and local statutory requirements (MX GAAP).
  • Understanding of global business issues, including foreign currency impacts, effective hedging protocols, and local customs and duty requirements.
