What You’ll Do

As part of the finance/accounting group, this position is responsible for reporting & analyzing financial, COGS, routings, BOMS and inventory results. The analyst will support operations and other functions (PLM’s, staff supervisors, etc.) with timely and accurate financial information, helping to achieve and exceed financial goals.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The analyst supports the Finance Manager (Plant Controller) to ensure accounting activities at the location comply with USGAP, MXGAP, local statutory requirements and Eaton Corporate policies. The role participates in forecast development, actual performance analysis, and operational metrics, and contributes to the profit plan focusing on cost savings projects, scrap, production volume and cost.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze the COGS structure, review current routings and BOMS to ensure profitability and the correct absorption rate for Monterrey Operations.
  • Coordinate the cost accounting process and cost maintenance to ensure accuracy of BOMs, routings, and standard cost; assist in periodic reviews and updates, including variance analysis to drive continuous improvement and costing for new projects.
  • Prepare the profit plan, rolling forecast, and weekly performance reporting for cost & inventory related metrics and figures; drive business to meet or exceed short‑term and long‑term goals.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate department budget systems for the assigned departments and develop reports for management to evaluate results against performance targets.
  • Provide business partnership to all plant areas by offering functional expertise and cross‑functional support, guiding plant personnel to achieve financial objectives and advising on financial operations.
  • Analyze low‑cost margins and work with operations to identify production strategy.
  • Partner with materials and quality teams to ensure controls for on‑hold levels per internal policy.
  • Support IC costing and MPV reviews and reports related to general cost for legacy business.
  • Lead processes to identify and quantify cost‑out opportunities and capture related data in the database; ensure integrity of financial information for cost‑out projects.
  • Support implementation of improvements to monthly closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and continuously develop financial modeling and tools.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of data to Eaton systems (Oracle, Wisper, RSD, Encore, DFT, OBIEE, Dashboard, etc.).
  • Coordinate annual physical inventory for finance, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and accuracy of counts, and deploy appropriate cycle‑count procedures.
  • Review and release scrap material and production completion reporting, COGS, material price variances, cost updates, and other COGS‑related activities.
  • Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls to ensure integrity of financial transactions, reporting and activities; safeguard the plant.

Support and lead department activities related to process improvements and standard work. Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts to accomplish department and plant goals. Deploy and sustain lean tools and initiatives to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of the finance function.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English.
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment and cost accounting.
  • Technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports.
  • Superior analytical and thinking skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem‑solving capability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with internal customers and Eaton management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience in Oracle and Mapics is a strong plus.
  • Sound working knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and local statutory requirements (MX GAAP).
  • Understanding of global business issues, including foreign currency impacts, effective hedging protocols and local customs and duty requirements.
