Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Data Engineer for the Tax Data Mart team. You will own ingesting, transforming, and controlling data to support analytics and business decisions.

You will design, implement, and operate data pipelines to support company growth and provide trusted data to analytics teams. You will collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners, leverage AI tooling to automate tasks, and help maintain scalable data systems and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.
• Experience using Data Build Tool (DBT) or a similar product to manage data flows.
• Experience using Claude, Cursor and similar AI tools.
• You are an expert at using SQL with experience using Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python for building data pipelines.
• Experience with modern data stack and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
• You have strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates.
• Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures to support analytics and reporting.
• Participate in new business initiatives and assess impact on data systems and processes.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners on data sources.
• Document business, functional and technical requirements for new initiatives.
• Utilize AI-assisted tooling to automate recurring data tasks and pipelines.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and observability; resolve data issues.
• Define data tooling needs and maintain existing systems.
• Prepare documentation related to data systems and processes.
• Share knowledge and best practices with engineers and analysts.
