Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Tax Data Mart team. You will own data ingestion, transformation, quality controls, and the delivery of analytics-ready data to business users across the company.

You will design and operate scalable pipelines, models, and warehouses to support rapid decision-making in a high-growth environment. You will collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners to identify data sources, document requirements, and build robust data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar role.
• Experience using Data Build Tool (DBT) or a similar product to manage data flows.
• Experience using Claude, Cursor and similar AI tools.
• You use SQL with Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python for building data pipelines.
• Experience with modern data stack and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates.
• Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) that serve data across the company.
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures to support analytics and reporting.
• Participate in new business initiatives and identify their impact on existing data systems and processes.
• Work closely with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners in developing new data sources.
• Identify and document business, functional and technical requirements for new initiatives and system enhancements.
• Leverage AI tooling to automate recurring data tasks and pipelines.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and observability, resolving data-related issues for internal partners.
• Define data tooling needs and maintain existing systems.
• Prepare documentation related to data systems and processes; share knowledge with engineers and analysts.
