Flex is seeking an Automation Engineer in Guadalajara, North, to design, test, and optimize automated systems across mechanical and digital environments. You will help improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance product and process outcomes while eliminating defects.

Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager, you’ll work on projects with a focus on automation and safety. The role involves engaging stakeholders, researching automation technologies, and designing tests to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.
• Senior background in automation engineering.
• Experience in project management.
• Strong experience in automotive industry.
• Experience in state of work development.
• Expertise in BoM structuring.
• Strong focus on maintaining systems integrity.
• In-depth design knowledge.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Familiarity with DFX and DFM principles.
• Knowledge of PokaYoke methodologies.
• Experience with fixtures and gage design.
• Proficient in robotic automation.
• Background in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in mechanical systems design.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and internal project requirements.
• Identify opportunities to increase automation efficiency.
• Research and design automation technology.
• Connect information inputs, controllers and outputs.
• Develop tests and simulations to ensure systems work as intended.
• Establish monitoring and QA processes.
