Flextronics - The Flex Company in Guadalajara, Mexico is seeking an Automation Engineer Sr to design, test, and optimize automated systems across mechanical and digital environments. You will report to the Equipment Maintenance Manager to improve processes, save costs, and eliminate defects in products and software.

The role requires engaging with customers, identifying automation opportunities, researching technologies, and developing tests and QA processes.

Qualifications

• Senior automation engineering experience, preferably in automotive environments.
• BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in BoM structuring and design for manufacturability.
• Strong knowledge of CAD software and mechanical design.
• Proficiency with automation and robotics systems, HMI, and controls.
• Familiarity with DFX/DFM principles and PokaYoke methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Engaging with customers and addressing internal project requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency with automation.
• Researching and designing automation technology.
• Creating a connection between information inputs, controllers and outputs.
• Developing tests and simulations to ensure the systems work as intended.
• Establishing monitoring and QA processes.
• Investigating defects or errors in the technology.
• Managing safety systems, motor controls, drives, communication systems, and HMI.
